Each legislative session, thousands of bills are brought by interest groups that have the potential to positively and/or negatively impact the chiropractic profession and your bottom line. The ANJC monitors every one of these bills to see how they might impact our members, while at the same time, working our proactive legislative agenda.

The ANJC Legislative Committee, led by Dr. Victor Rossi, frequently meets to discuss, brainstorm, and strategize on how best to navigate the legislative priorities and issues that may present a challenge to the profession.

Current ANJC legislative priorities for 2025 include:

• Regulatory enforcement of third-party administrators and silent PPOs, COLA, and PIP fee schedules.
• Removal of the $35 cap.
• Advancing the Preceptorship bill into law.

The Legislative Committee and ANJC Board of Directors are committed to identifying and building relationships with legislators and regulators as well as educating them on both the benefits of chiropractic care and the challenges our members face as small business owners that could negatively impact the care of our patients.

Both ANJC Board members and staff continue to meet with legislators and attend legislative events as we further develop relationships that will afford us the opportunity to promote ANJC priorities:

• In recent months, we have met with Senator Joseph Lagana and Senate President Nicholas Scutari’s office to discuss our concerns regarding the stagnation of the PIP fee schedule, among other items. We are meeting with Assemblywoman Carol Murphy at the end of the month to introduce ourselves and see how our initiatives and Murphy’s priorities align. We have also attended events for Speaker Craig Coughlin, Senator Nicholas Scutari, Senator Vin Gopal, and Senator Gordon Johnson.
• In November, ANJC Executive Director Suzanne Corson gave testimony during the NJ Department of Human Services Budget Hearing, advocating for better patient access to our much-needed, drug-free alternative, care of pain management for Medicaid recipients. Earlier this month, the ANJC was invited by Chair Sterley Stanley to testify in front of the Assembly Regulated Professions Committee. Dina Brown, ANJC Director of Insurance and Government Affairs, testified on behalf of the ANJC, concerning the organization of the State professional boards and the delays in the licensure process associated with these boards.
• In December, the ANJC PAC hosted a successful and well-attended fundraiser for Senator Vin Gopal, Assemblywomen Margie Donlon and Luanne Peterpaul, which raised close to $25,000. The ANJC PAC is currently collaborating with Senator Lagana’s office to host a fundraiser at Headquarters – Stay Tuned!
