Throughout 2024, we’re joining hands with statewide licensed chiropractic members, sponsors, BOD leadership, and New Jersey citizens to recognize and celebrate the countless hours spent by supporters past and present dedicated to the ANJC over two decades.

Scroll down below to learn how we’re commemorating this 20-year work promoting the highest level of quality chiropractic care through integrity, access, and education!

A 20-Year History of Achievements:

2004

The ANJC was established, uniting statewide groups and chiropractors committed to providing top-tier care to thousands in New Jersey, setting a new standard in health service and community wellness.

2009

The ANJC spearheaded a significant legislative campaign to update the chiropractic scope of practice in New Jersey, a pivotal step forward since the original scope established in 1953.

2010

The ANJC secures a major win for chiropractors after fighting, through administrative action, against Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield for improperly denying payments for exams, re-exams, and physical modalities—which resulted in the insurer paying a $33 million fine.

2014

The ANJC celebrates the organization’s 10th Anniversary at The Imperia Banquet Center.

10th Anniversary

2015

The ANJC leads a Declaratory Judgment lawsuit forcing AETNA to change its policy after the US District Court found the insurer was improperly denying reimbursement on 97140, which affected chiropractors throughout the US.

2016

Governor Chris Christie signs into law the Licensed Chiropractic Assistant Legislation, making New Jersey the first state in the nation to offer individuals the opportunity to attain licensure as Chiropractic Assistants. These assistants provide invaluable service to the public, the profession, and patients.

2019

Following a six-year-long battle, ANJC Members are awarded an $11.7 million settlement by the 3rd Circuit Court from ASHN and CIGNA for improperly denying chiropractic claims for nearly a decade.

2024

A landmark victory with the signing of Assembly Bill 4913 by Governor Phil Murphy on January 8, 2024, ending virtual credit card-only payments. This achievement underscores our continuous advocacy for chiropractic excellence and patient care rights.
