We have created a handout with a breakdown of changes to NJ school employee health plans following the enactment of bill S2273.  We hope this will be helpful in explaining the changes to any of your patients who are covered by these plans.  

Remember, these changes are in effect for districts that particpate with the School Employee Health Benefits Program.  A list of these plans can be found here: SEHBP Participating Districts List.

If the district is not on this list, then their current plans will not change.  However, ALL districts, whether participating or not, will be required to offer the Educators Health Plan (EHP) as of Jan. 1, 2021 and any new employees hired after July 1, 2020 will be required to take the EHP plan beginning Jan. 1, 2021.
