Meet the ANJC Team: Laurel Klappholz

Tell us about yourself!

I was born and raised in Union County, NJ. The only time I lived outside of NJ was when I went to college in central Pennsylvania. I graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a B.A. in English Communications. I’ve always known that I thrive in roles centered around member engagement and relationship building—my husband often jokes that I could even hold a conversation with a tree. Prior to joining ANJC, I worked in the member services department at the Westfield YMCA. I recently celebrated three years with the ANJC in August. I’m also a proud cat mom of two. In my spare time, you can find me watching football (go Chiefs!), walking my cat on a leash, and being outside as much as possible.

What do you do here at the ANJC?

In my role at the ANJC, I serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders—including current and prospective members, sponsors, vendors, and the general public—providing support, answering questions, and ensuring smooth communication across phone, email, social media, and our website. I ensure member benefits are clearly communicated and valuable, maintain accurate resources such as the “Join Us” page and membership toolkit, and lead initiatives related to member communications, recruitment, appreciation, and data collection. As staff lead for both the Membership and Association Development Committees, I coordinate meetings, develop agendas, guide strategic projects, and ensure progress toward organizational goals. I also support sponsor and exhibitor management by overseeing contracts, deliverables, relationship-building, and ROI reporting, and assist with marketing and advertising initiatives—including serving as liaison to our marketing consultant, managing production of NJ Chiropractor, reviewing communications materials, and keeping the ANJC website updated. Additionally, I play a key role in Annual Conference operations, from managing the program journal to coordinating signage, materials, and sponsor benefits.

What do you enjoy most about your role with the ANJC?

What I enjoy most about my role with the ANJC is the opportunity to directly support our members. Whether it’s helping them navigate resources, answering questions, or improving their day-to-day experience with the association, I love knowing that my work helps chiropractors feel supported and connected. The most fulfilling part of my role is contributing to an organization that advocates for and elevates the chiropractic profession in New Jersey. Being part of that mission gives real purpose to the work I do every day.

The Annual Conference will be here before we know it – what do you look forward to at the event each year?

Each year, I really look forward to seeing our members come together in one place. So much of my work happens through emails and phone calls, so getting to connect face-to-face is always energizing. It’s rewarding to see the impact of our team’s work reflected in the excitement and engagement of the attendees. I also enjoy seeing our exhibitors and partners interacting with the attendees. It’s a great reminder of how many resources are available to support the profession, and I love helping make those connections happen.
