ANJC Legislative Progress: Chiropractic Advocacy Updates & Key Priorities

Jul 19, 2024 | PAC & Legislative Updates

As the Vice President of the ANJC Board and Chair of the Legislative Committee, Dr. Victor Rossi is at the forefront of broadening the influence of New Jersey chiropractors. His work focuses on amplifying our voices to ensure that our profession’s needs are well-represented in Trenton and beyond.

Dear Fellow ANJC Colleagues,

As I shared in our last legislative update, we are committed to keeping membership informed on the progress of our current and future priorities and projects.

The ANJC Legislative Committee continues to meet monthly, brainstorming strategies to create change around obstacles confronting our profession, including third-party administrators and silent PPO’s, COLA and PIP, and the $35 cap. We understand the challenges our members, and our profession faces, and we are committed to supporting all chiropractic practices — in-network, out-of-network, cash — to ensure fair reimbursement for the high-quality care we provide to our patients.

Our board-approved priorities for 2024 remain the same, as they each have the potential to significantly impact the chiropractic profession:

  • Increase Fee Schedules, specifically addressing the State and School Employee Cap on Chiropractic Care, PIP daily limit max, and Cost of Living adjustments.
  • Increase access to chiropractic care through all avenues, including worker’s compensation, OMNIA Tier System, and integrating chiropractic into hospital systems.
  • Creating a preceptorship program for students in their final term to recruit new graduates to New Jersey.
  • Aggressively Advocate against third-party repricing and Silent PPOs, which negatively impact not just chiropractors but all healthcare providers and their constituents.

Over the past couple of months, members of our leadership team have had the opportunity to build momentum as we meet with legislators and regulators, educating them on the benefits of chiropractic and how chiropractors are an integral part of the continuum of care for the citizens of New Jersey.

ANJC lobbyist, Jon Bombardieri of CBL Partners, has coordinated discussions with legislators on both sides of the aisle, including Senator Nellie Pou, Senator John Bramnick, Senator Vin Gopal, Assemblyman Craig Coughlin, and Assemblyman Sterley Stanley.

By attending fundraisers, events and having one-on-one meetings, the ANJC is building long-lasting relationships, positioning ourselves as the primary advocate for the state’s chiropractic profession. Jon and his team are scheduling follow-up meetings and opportunities for conversations with additional legislators when they are back in session this Fall.

Thank you to our members who prioritize the ANJC PAC with a monthly or annual donation.

The funds raised by the PAC have a direct impact on how the ANJC is able to engage with our state legislators and ensure they truly understand our profession’s concerns. Learn more about the ANJC PAC and how you can support our profession. Every dollar counts and no contribution is too small.

The ANJC Board of Directors and Legislative Committee wants to hear from you. What challenges are you facing and how can we help? Please reach out to me at drrossi@anjc.info, and thank you for your support of the ANJC.

Sincerely,
Dr. Victor Rossi
ANJC Board Vice President
