My team and I enjoyed meeting some of you earlier in June and presenting on Taxes and Retirement Planning Strategies at the recent ANJC Regional Meetings in partnership with Jeff Randolph, Esq.

We covered key topics on how you can best prepare yourself and your business for financial success while protecting against financial risks that can derail your future. The main takeaways from our presentations at the regional meetings are:

  • Tax Planning — You need to be mindful of current and future taxes to be aware of what your assets can provide for income. A SEP IRA is not the only option available and may not be the best retirement account to be funding. Why? Even though it does not feel like it, we are in a historically low tax environment, and taxes are likely going to increase in the future.
  • Living Benefits — For almost all business owners, the biggest asset for the business is the ability of the owner to work and generate revenue. If you don’t have a plan in place to replace your income during a health crisis, your business could fail, and yes, this goes up and above a disability policy. Ask yourself, if something were to happen to you, what would that mean for your business?
