At the same time, our members did an outstanding job of working with their own patients to help them understand the changes and options, and getting the word out through emails, social media, and even local newspaper ads they bought on their own. The Result Our campaign to educate the retirees prompted Aetna to revise the plans and send out tens of thousands of letters to the retirees clarifying the chiropractic benefits. These patients will no longer require pre-authorization; visits with modalities in addition to spinal manipulation will be allowed up to 30 per year; and the plans will now cover modalities that are within our scope of practice.
