Aetna Erroneous Pre-Auth Denials
On Oct. 2, 2018, we advised that many members had received denials from Aetna for lack of pre-authorization of care. We immediately approached Aetna regarding this as the new pre-authorization program is not set to begin here in New Jersey until Jan. 1, 2019. Aetna acknowledged there was an issue with their claims processing system in New Jersey that did result in erroneous denials.
Aetna has advised that all these erroneous denials have now been addressed and correct payments have been issued. If you believe you still have an outstanding erroneous denial from Aetna for lack of pre-certification, please reach out to me at email@example.com.
