Dear ANJC Members & All,
The ANJC Legislative Committee has been gathering continually and recently welcomed new member Dr. Derek DeCagna to our meetings.
Since our last legislative update to membership, we’ve had the opportunity to continue our discussions with legislators and other stakeholders regarding:
- Expanding the Scope of Chiropractic to include needle EMG.
- Advocating for the Preceptorship bill, which will encourage new chiropractors to come to New Jersey for their clinicals.
- Reconciling the NJ Department of Education’s guidance for districts accepting Medical Gym Excuse Notes with the Scope of Chiropractic.
- Increasing reimbursements such as the PIP Daily Limit and COLA.
As the Legislature is back for the fall session, we are lining up meetings and attending fundraisers and events—all to continue the momentum toward building relationships with legislators who understand our profession’s concerns.
We are tracking legislation that supports pro-chiropractic initiatives and strategically working with our allied healthcare professionals to improve patient access to chiropractic care.
I hope you have a chance to read the ANJC’s Government Affairs Counsel Jon Bombardieri’s article in the fall edition of the NJ Chiropractor (pg. 17), an ANJC quarterly magazine, highlighting NJ State Senator Nellie Pou’s nomination to replace the late Representative Bill Pascrell.
Over the years, Senator Pou has strongly advocated for the chiropractic profession and our patients, which is sure to continue if she wins the November election. She was instrumental in helping shepherd the new chiropractic scope of practice into law and was recently a cosponsor of the new Virtual Credit Card law.
Additionally, thank you to our members who prioritize the ANJC PAC with a monthly or annual donation.
These donations help make chiropractic victories possible and YOUR voice heard! The funds raised by the ANJC PAC directly impact the success our Legislative Committee and Board are working so hard to achieve.
Your support drives real progress—pushing chiropractic care forward.
Sincerely,
Dr. Victor Rossi
ANJC Board Vice President
