Medicare has released an updated Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) form. This new form will be mandatory as of August 31, 2020. An ABN is a written notice which a physician, provider, or supplier give to a Medicare beneficiary before items or services are furnished when the physician, provider, or supplier believes that Medicare probably or certainly will not pay for some or all of the items or services.

The ABN form language has not changed at all except for the expiration date at the bottom. Nevertheless, it will be mandatory to use this new form as of August 31, 2020!
